Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

I have wanted to have a Christmas party for so long now and this year I decided as crazy as I knew it might be, this year was the year we were going to go for it! The prep work for a party is quite the undertaking but the memories will last a lifetime. We started the night off with taking a photo of each guest in their ugly sweater (although you will see some of these are quite beautiful!) and then we played one of our favorite games to play which is the "What if and then" game. The guests fill out a "What if" question about anything...such as "What if...Santa wore pink slippers instead of black boots". Then everyone passes their papers in and we redistribute them. Everyone then answers their new question they have recieved with a "then" answer. The papers are recollected and then redistributed one more time. One person reads their "What if" question and the person to their right (or left which ever way you prefer to go) reads their "Then" answer. Sometimes it works out quite funny and other times it makes no sense at all. But that is the fun part! I was laughing so hard I was crying. We had some dousy's that's for sure!

We then played my favorite thing to play which is the white elephant gift exchange. We had a variety of good gifts which included movie tickets, gift cards, a cheetah blanket and foot massagers. The "White Elephant" gifts included some very creative things such as a woman's high heeled shoe with eyeballs (craft ones of course) glued all over them, pad (yes I mean women's pads...) slippers, a toilet seat, a cactus snowman that played music and lit up (that one was fought over!), a barbie that had "hairy" legs and a razor and one of my personal favorites which was a picture taken of two of our guests in their "christmas turtlenecks" which they blew up to at least an 11X17, then framed it and autographed it. It was pretty hilarious. Our white elephant gift took some major time and creativity but it was all worth it. I created a book with "awkward family photos" and put our guests faces in the place of these awkward family photos that I found. I sincerely hope none of our guests were offended, I had such a fun time putting it together and the kids and I had many laughs at all the pictures. I am posting pictures below of our guests and their ugly sweaters as well as the photos from the book I put together.

We had such a great time and are so glad so many people could make it. We are so blessed to be in such a great area and have such great friends to make memories with! :-)

And now...for the White Elephant Book Pics :-)

Everyone's Favorite Picture and one of my favorites...
