California Trip!

A few weeks before Thanksgiving we decided we would take a last minute trip up to Sacramento where Jason's old missionary companion, Mike and his wife Amy live. He has been trying to get us up there for quite some time so we thought this year would be a perfect year to make the trek up there over the Thanksgiving holiday. We packed in a LOT of sight seeing and had a blast. We adore Mike & Amy and sure wish they lived closer! Here are some of the highlights of our trip.

Japanese Garden

Jelly Belly Tour

Painted Ladies Houses (Anyone remember these from Full House?!)

Big Redwood Trees

Big Trees

Oakland Temple

San Fransisco House (I fell in love with the architecture of these houses, simply magnificent!)

Ghirardelli Square (Best ice cream ever!)

Closest I ever hope to get to the inside of a shark's mouth :-)

Famous Pier 39 (got some fabulous mini dougnuts here...we had to fight over the last one they were so good!)

Giant Christmas Tree on the Pier

Palace of Fine Arts (Absolutely gorgeous!)

Alcatraz Prison

Alcatraz Yard (this was the yard the prisoners went out on to get exercise, play games, etc. The higher up you sat the more status you had in the prison between the inmates. Obviously Jason & Mike would be on the top step as they are the "top dogs"!)

Golden Gate Bridge

You are too cute. Yes we did pack a LOT in for sure but it was so much fun. I have your new address...saved it from your text :-) Christmas cards going out late this year...just ordered them yesterday! Pictures took a little longer this year than expected so I didn't get them back until last week. Two parties took up any spare time...oh well they'll get there before Christmas right? :-)
