Nate for President!!!

A few days ago...(or maybe it was last week, I am loosing track of the days here) Nate was talking about when he was going to be "President" and the conversation was too sweet not to share...it went something like this....

Nate: "When I am President, I am going to give everyone free gas, cars, houses, and groceries. Oh...and no one will have to work."
Me: "President?"
Nate: "Yes!"
Me: "You mean President of the United States?"
Nate: "Yes!"
Me: "You know you actually have to get up in front of people and speak right?"
Nate: "Yes mom, I know that."
Me: "Ok. So...who is going to build these houses if no one has to work?"
Nate: "People will just do it to be nice & they will get a bigger house for building someone's house for free."
Me: "Oh...ok. Well...who is going to be at the grocery store & open it up and stalk the shelves and pay for the electricity..."
Nate: "Oh...well no one will have to work except the person who opens the store...they will just have to go to the store to let everyone in."
Me: "Oh...ok."

...... a week later the converstation continues with Nate having the same determination that everything is going to be free...and so on. After a few minutes of Jason and I asking him questions he finally gives up and says "I don't know...when I'm President I'll have to sit down and think about it and figure it all out. I dont' have everything figured out yet. Besides, when someone gets to be President they don't know everything right away...they have to sit down and think first."

Oh my....Jason and I were just dying! It was so cute to hear what he would do if he were President. It gave me some hope since this is the kid that doesn't like to get up in front of people and is extremely shy! Hey...stranger things have happened right? :-) Watch out and step aside Obama....you've got a new competitor! LOL!
