So....I am new to all this blogging stuff and decided what the hec...I might as well try it! i don't know how good i'll be at updating it but it'seems like a fun thing to do so here goes!
I had one of those days last week....that is unforgettable and I couldn't let it go by without writing about it. The morning started off just fabulous! Quiet...which never happens in the morning. I usually have to stay up until 2 am to get some quiet but this particular morning Nate had gone to baseball camp and Jason had gone to a work meeting. So it was after 8 am (I know...typically I would be asleep but I had to get nate to baseball camp) and Tyson was still asleep so I thought I'd get some reading in. About 30 minutes later the fire alarms started going off. At first I didn't know what in the world it was because I'd never heard it before! I thought it was odd but they stopped after a minute and so I went back to reading. Well...unfortunately this continued to happen a few more times so I went around looking for what room it was in and realized the alarm that was going off and setting everything off was in Tyson's room...right where he was sound asleep. He was asleep for over an hour with the fire alarms going off for about 80% of the time. I posted the video which is a little dark but if you have ever heard that kids don't wake up to fire alarms...this is definitely proof! i didn't know what to do so I called the fire department because of course changing the battery didn't work. So...after a while the fire alarms calmed down and were only deciding to go off every hour instead of every few minutes. Well...being the little antsy person I am I had decided to paint my closet (I know...my mom says I need another kid if I have time to paint closets!). So...the other picture is of the mess the had accumulated after emptying everything from my closet. I guess you don't realize how much stuff you can fit in there! One of my strong qualities is definitely not gaging time and how long things will take to get done. What I thought was going to be a couple hour project turned into an entire day and into the wee hours of the morning. So...the fire department finally came around 4:30 (only after 7 1/2 hours of the alarms going on and off) to determine that we have a faulty alarm and we need to go to our builder to get one. Ugh! On top of which...we had no car (was suppoed to be done by 4:30 but as we were driving there to pick it up they called and said it wouldn't be ready until 6) and we had to get Nate to a park for scouts as well as ourselves to our own scout group at the building by 6 pm. So...thank goodness for the Ruff's who offered us to borrow their car! We made it to scouts & survived that...then to pick up the car and home of course to finish painting the closet until 2 am...only to wake up again the next day by 7 to get Nate to baseball camp. So...the day that seemed it would never end finally did and we slept soundly with no alarms going off. Whew!
