Tyson was so funny when we would wait in line he couldn't wait to get on the rides but when we would get up to the ride he would freak out and not want to go on it. Well this particular one we waited 45 minutes for and so we made him go! Bad parents??? Hopefully not! He screamed the whole time it was pretty funny. Here is the beginning of the ride...he looked the same at the end of the ride until about 5 minutes after. What a stinker!
Sleeping children....ahhhh!!!! Much different then the ride there! I think Legoland was enough to drain them for a few days!
So...all in all we had a good trip. Should I even dare complain? Ah...what the hec. It was cold! Well...to me it was cold. It was 68 and cloudy and windy! I was not prepared for that. I think when you live in AZ you just wake up to the same sunny, warm weather every day and so I just expect California to be the same! Last year it was warm...this year was quite a bit different.
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton this year. DISCLAIMER! We get it for free and breakfast is even included! That is the only reason we stay...otherwise who would pay that kind of money??? It's crazy! So...the only reason I mention this is to explain what I felt like walking in there with our kids and pulling up in our 99 Chrysler! We were loaded up to the brim in the car and after finally arriving Jason parked up front and went in to see where we could park the car but oh no...they don't allow you to park your own car! You have to do valet and it costs $35 a day! Holy cow! So much for free! So here we are parking our dirty, messy old car in with BMW's, Mercedes, Escalades and yes a Bentley...did I even spell that right? As if that wasn't enough we are trying to carry all of our own luggage as to avoid having to tip someone to bring it up to our room. As our kids are running through the "quiet" lobby we are trying to help them stop and be quiet while lugging our 2 coolers, 2 bags of food, 2 suit cases, a laptop bag, a backpack & the dvd player. To make matters worse we have to go through the restaurant to get to our room (you can imagine the stares we got!). All the workers are so nice there but we just really felt out of place. I'm not complaining about staying somewhere like don't get me wrong it is very nice but we definitely don't fit in! It was quite a scene to say the least!
We were able to play a little on the beach and pool the day we got there, the following day we went to Legoland and the next day we left! Short trip but it was nice. The kids love Legoland. I think next year we will go back but not in June! The one bad thing about Legoland is that the rides are short and the lines are slow. Even if there aren't very many people in line it still seems to take forever. Odd....but true. So...I'm thinking September might be better during a weekday so there aren't as many people (hopefully) and maybe it will be warmer than 70!
