Tahoe

So...for the past several years Jason and I have somewhere just the two of us. Given the fact that we have been entertaining moving (not far just a few miles away) and saving for the adoption, this year we chose to take a mini trip. I have always wanted to take a ski trip & have heard that Lake Tahoe is where it's at. So, we ventured up there for the weekend last month and met our friends Mike & Amy. What an experience! I would honestly say that Jason and I are definitely NOT skiers. :-) Wow! It was so much harder than I thought. One of the pics below shows me in a "snow plow" position or as the trainers say to the kids "pizza" skiing. Jason and I sure did snow plow for two days straight. But...it was an awesome experience and it was gorgeous to ski down the mountain with the view of Lake Tahoe. The snow was great, the view was amazing & the weather was perfect! It was a great little get away and even though we love our kids, it is always nice to have a little time just to ourselves. :-)

The trip started off a little rocky. The line waiting to go through the scanners was so long we would have missed our flight. After waiting 15 minutes, I saw a TSA worker and told him we were going to miss our flight if we had to wait in that line. He moved us up to the first class line & off we went! Arrived at the gate when they started boarding. Whew!

First stop was a place we had heard was famous for their breakfast food. It was fabulous! We will definitely go back there when we come back to visit.

Literally...I'm telling ya, snow plow was the way to go! We did fall a few times (mostly off the dumb ski lift - I hate those things!) but we figured we'd better come back in one piece so we played it safe.

Visited the Reno, Nevada temple :-)

This was the view from the restaurant we ate at. Goreous! It was crazy to me that even for a nice restaurant you still could walk in there with all your snow gear on. It is a different lifestyle there. Even though the weather was gorgeous, I still was freezing the entire time so the fact that I could have a winter jacket, gloves (with hand warmers inside), snow plants & boots on 85% of the trip was A-OK with me! :-)
