Ward Split...

I know...I was debating on posting about this because truly my "angry" feelings have not gone away & I don't want this to be a bitter post. Let's just say I'm one of those people who resist change. I am not for change unless it is produced by me..of course.

When you are Mormon...church is your lively-hood. The people you see every Sunday, the people you serve with and the people you serve (in my case children in primary and scouts)...these are the people you grow to love and deeply care about. To have half the people stripped away one Sunday with a few hours notice is not exactly my cup of tea. Plus not to mention that the ward boundaries are a little small and for the 1st time I am in a tiny ward with land locked boundaries. I know that might be appealing to some but I love big wards! This is what I have become accustom to. We have lived out here for 10 years now and have been through tons of ward splits. I can honestly say this one has hit me the hardest. I also found out that day that a good friend of mine is moving...as if I wasn't sad enough! I'm still ignoring the fact that the Jensen's are gone..and now another one!?

I guess this is just part of life...one of those parts I'd rather avoid. So...I'm trying to remain positive...especially positive that I've lost 1/2 my friends to the other ward and that 8:00 church is only a few weeks away. I think the Cactus Lane Ward has a curse for 8:00 church. It just keeps comin back no matter how hard we try to get rid of it. Oh well...the noon church was fun while it lasted.

Ah! The ward split?? It was huge and therefore somewhat expected, but I can totally see how you'd be sad! Sad have all those friends in a different ward now. What are the boundaries? I like big wards too. Ours here is tiny and I miss big ol' Cactus Lane. YES YES it does have an 8:00 am curse. People can't believe that when I tell them our church was at 8:00. I remember being so excited for January to bring a new time and then they announced it would stay.
Sorry about the split AND the time.

:( I know. I'm sad, too. At least we're still in the same ward! Our tiny, little, early-rising ward...

I hate splits too:( We moved about 8 months ago. To Surprise first ward. I still miss everybody, and I mean everybody.

I was visiting my family in Utah when James sent me a text message telling me of the split. Granted, we haven't been in the ward long but I was shocked and sad.

I feel like just when I start to make friends we move or the ward splits. I guess I have to just keep telling myself that this will bring more opportunity to make more friends.

I will have to say though I would gladly trade 2:00 for 8:00. We have been cursed with 2:00 church it seems since moving here. Oh well.

But hey if you'd prefer 2:00 church there are still a few houses still for sale out here. I'd gladly take you as a neighbor.

That's sad...I hate splits too. I loved Cactus Lane ward, I had a hard time moving out of it. 8am...YIKES!

I am so sad too. There are so many fabulous people that I only get to see because I go to church. I sure hope I haven't seen the last of you!

I heard about the split! Who is the bishop? I heard Randi's husband is the bishop of the other ward. Wow! 8 am church was seriously next to impossible with kids. 9 should be the earliest!
